In combination with customer’s construction requirements, especially the sand transporting method, OCEAN Pump engineers proposed to use a funnel-filling method. The customer required to install a funnel-shaped sand pool near the construction site, use a large-flow water pump to fill the funnel sand pool with water, the sand was discharged into the funnel sand pool from sand transporting ship to form a uniform mortar, which is pumped by the powerful dredge pump 500PNS-60 for long-distance transporting and filling. The customer visited the funnel-type construction site, studied the working process sincerely, finally selected the construction plan provided by OCEAN Pump.
The powerful dredge pump 500PNS-60 was delivered to Malaysia in February 2017. After installation, the on-site running test was operated for 1 week. How to Choose Power Source for Heavy Duty Sludge Pump

An engineering company in Zhejiang has undertaken a mud transportation project in the underground engineering. About 5 million cubic meters mud obtained from underground construction requires to be delivered to a place 12 kilometers away from the construction site.

How to Maintain and Repair of Multi-purpose DS Sand Suction Pump

DS sand suction pump is the kind of heavy duty sand pumping machine designed by OCEAN Pump to provide continuous transport of highly abrasive sand or slurries containing large particles with high flow, excellent efficiency, low maintenance and ownership costs.
Mr. Huang has a sand field, he want to use small stone and gravel to make sand, because the government has strict control over the river sand pumping. The sand produced during the stone and gravel crushing process contains more mud, and a large amount of muddy water is generated during the cleaning process. It is necessary to solidify the mud into a mud block by a filter press to facilitate handling. Because the pressure required for the feed is large, so Mr. Huang purchased two multi-purpose DS sand suction pump for the filter press from OCEAN Pump.

Troubleshooting of Multi-purpose DS Sand Suction Pump

The multi-purpose DS sand suction pump was installed on site and the effect was good. The mud began to form in about 10 minutes. After using for a period of time, the on-site master reflected the abnormal noise of the bearing, the pressure at the inlet was reduced, and the discharge time was extended. After receiving feedback from the on-site staff, OCEAN Pump arranged engineers to go to the site to repair the DS sand suction pump. Upon arrival at the scene, our staff conducted an overhaul of the following problems.

1. The multi-purpose DS sand suction pump was not on the horizontal line with the pulley of the motor, and the distance of the motor end pulley protruded outward by half of the sheave. At the same time, the DS sand suction pump bearing chamber had abnormal noise. The engineers guessed that the bearing might be damaged due to the force deviation caused by long-term disagreement.
2. The pressure at the feed port was reduced, indicating that the lift of the DS sand suction pump was reduced. The motor used in the field is the second-hand motor purchased by the customer. Our engineers used the speed measuring instrument to detect the lower motor speed. The rated speed of the 4-pole motor is 1470 rpm, but the display was only about 1300 rpm. The motor speed was low, so that the speed transmitted to the DS sand suction pump was not up to the rated speed, so the engineers recommended to increase the motor pulley by one specification. The original motor pulley was a C-type 4 slot with an outer diameter of 240 mm. The engineers recommended to use a pulley with an outer diameter of 260 mm.
3. The engineers checked the installation pipeline of the DS sand suction pump and found that the inlet pipe was only fitted on the joint, no fastening with clips. This method could easily lead to air intake of sand pump. At the same time, the packing had not been replaced for a long time, and there was a phenomenon of mud leakage. Various reasons caused the air intake of the sand suction pump, and the pressure did not meet the requirements. How to maintain and repair the Multi-purpose DS Sand Suction Pump

1. After OCEAN Pump engineers disassembled the bearing chamber of the multi-purpose DS sand suction pump, it was found that the balls of one bearing were damaged. Therefore, according to the model requirements, the on-site worker went out to buy.
2. At the same time, the engineers replaced the pulley with the outer diameter of 260 mm.
3. Reinforce the pipe at the entrance, and seal the interface with a film of grease to prevent air intake.
4. Because the engineers brought a box of packing in advance, they directly replaced the packing that has been worn out.

After all faults have been eliminated, our engineers installed the DS sand suction pump body and started up. There was no mud leakage at the place of the packing, and no abnormal noise in the bearing chamber. The slurry in the tank was quickly pumped into the filter press, and the effect was very obvious. During the maintenance process, our engineers patiently explained to the field staff the steps of replacing the parts and the methods for solving the problems, to ensure that the construction workers in the future work, such as replacing the packing and reinforcing the imported pipes, could handle the problems by themselves.

The previous sand pump type can only transport 400 meters, the customer want to change a electric sand pump that can reach 800 meters discharge distance.

Considering the complicated structure of the high lift sand dredge pump, the designer modified the drawings to design a single pump shell high lift electric sand suction pump.
