An engineering company in Zhejiang has undertaken a mud transportation project in the underground engineering. About 5 million cubic meters mud obtained from underground construction requires to be delivered to a place 12 kilometers away from the construction site.
The site is on a relatively congested section of the local traffic, so the government designate the construction period to be 22:30 – 7:00 the next day. It also requires less noise during construction, minimizing the dust pollution, and reducing the impact on the lives of surrounding residents.
The customer currently uses trucks to transport mud to a designated area for stacking. However, this method is less efficient. Trucks need continuous round-trip transportation and can only work at specified times in the evening, which results in lower transporting efficiency. And environmental pollution problems such as dust and spills cannot be avoided. After confirming the order, OCEAN Pump began to manufacture the sand dredge pump according to the contract. The electric sand dredge pump and supporting equipment were delivered to the customer’s designated site on May 18, 2019. After the complete sets of equipment includes the required pipeline installation finished production, OCEAN Pump engineers started to debug the equipment on site. During the trial operation of the heavy duty sand pump units, the water and mud mixture capacity was about 400 cubic meters per hour which can meet the customer’s expectations. And the overall operation cost is low, and the cost is much lower than the previous truck transportation. The customer is very satisfied with this. In view of the success of this cooperation, the customer is more confident about the next phase of the project (transport distance up to 40 kilometers), so signed a new procurement contract with our company.
- Use multiple vertical sediment pumps equip with high-pressure water pumps.Water pumps extract clean water from the river. The water pump can provide high-pressure water to impact the soil layer, thereby forming high concentration mud and water mixture, which is pumped and transported by a vertical sand pump.
- The mud and water mixture extracted by vertical sand pumps was gathered to one electric sand dredge pump by mud transporting hose then is conveyed by electric sand dredge pump 3km away. There are other two electric sand dredge pumps as booster sand pump, the two sand pumps are in same model. The mixture will be conveyed and discharged to the river 12 km away by the booster pumps.
- The electric sand dredge pump can be used for 24 hours without interruption, which effectively improves the working efficiency. The sand extracted by the sand pump machine will be directly transported to the designated discharge pool through the pipeline, and does not need to be transported by the vehicle, so the work efficiency will be much improved.
- Compared to truck transporting, sand pump conveying has little impact on traffic. The environmental pollution is also minimal because the sediment is conveyed by pipeline, almost no leaks.
- The electric motor has low noise during running, it has little effect on the normal life of the surrounding residents.
- It doesn’t require many people for operation, and there are low requirements for operators. These can reduce the labor cost.
