A blow-fill operation in Penang, Malaysia, required to blow sand 600 to 800 m³/h and discharge to 1000-1500 meters, and the total filling capacity was 2 million cubic meters. The customer had a  sand transporting ship with belt sand unloading system, he required a sand suction and dredging scheme which is suitable for the existing sand transporting ship. The sand particles were coarse sand whose diameter were 3.0mm-5.0mm, this required sand pump machine with good wear resistance and long life.
According to the customer’s construction requirements and similar experience in sand-filling and reclamation, OCEAN Pump engineers recommended to use the powerful dredge pump 500PNS-60.

In combination with customer’s construction requirements, especially the sand transporting method, OCEAN Pump engineers proposed to use a funnel-filling method. The customer required to install a funnel-shaped sand pool near the construction site, use a large-flow water pump to fill the funnel sand pool with water, the sand was discharged into the funnel sand pool from sand transporting ship to form a uniform mortar, which is pumped by the powerful dredge pump 500PNS-60 for long-distance transporting and filling. The customer visited the funnel-type construction site, studied the working process sincerely, finally selected the construction plan provided by OCEAN Pump.
The powerful dredge pump 500PNS-60 was delivered to Malaysia in February 2017. After installation, the on-site running test was operated for 1 week. The sand output was 750-800m³/h, and the conveying distance was over 1600m. The customer is satisfied with the powerful dredge pump. The customer’s project began in March 2017, the sand dredge pump worked 14 hours a day, sand blowing amount was about 10,000m³, the whole project was completed in 3 months. The customer was very satisfied with the construction progress. Then the customer checked the impeller, guard plate and pump casing for wear. It was found that only the front panel was worn more, other parts could be reused. The wear resistance of the powerful dredge pump material was very good. The customer ordered another powerful dredge pump for a new blow-filling project.

Sand Gravel Dredging Pump was Delivered to Malawi for Placer Gold Extracting

Sand gravel dredging pump is mainly used for extracting and transporting large particles whose diameter is too big to be pumped by general sand pump machine. The over-current components of the sand dredge pumps are made of high-chromium alloy. The service life is about ten times longer than ordinary cast iron sand pumps’.
