One customer from Hunan signed a local sludge treatment project. There are 14 sludge pools which are 8 m deep, 5 m long and 5 m wide. The sludge contains a small amount of sand. The required discharge distance is 150 m and sediment capacity is 20 m³/h. When contacted OCEAN Pump engineers, the customer requested the sand pump machine should has the features of good wear resistance and convenient operation. Hydraulic submersible sediment pump is the new sediment pump type which is developed and designed by Tai’an Ocean Pump Co., Ltd. One customer from Gansu undertook a river cleanup project. The water depth is about 2 meters, the sand layer is relatively hard, the discharge distance is about 200 meters. Previously, the customer dug sand with excavators, then transported by vehicles. However, this method was not only inefficient, but also had a relatively large pollution to the surrounding environment, and there were many complaints from surrounding residents. Submersible slurry pump with agitator, is an ideal slurry pumping machine which required to be suspended by wire rope and diving into water, it is usually equipped on a submersible slurry pump dredger. The submersible slurry pump with agitator puts electric motor and mechanical pump on the same axis. The bottom of the submersible slurry pump body is equipped with a stirring impeller, which can stir the deposited sludge to form a turbulent flow and achieve high concentration transportation. Because the submersible slurry pump with agitator dive into water directly and the step of pouring water is eliminated, the operation is relatively simple.

The submersible Slurry pump with agitator adopts wear-resistant high-chromium alloy material, and the Rockwell hardness is about 55. It has good wear resistance and long service life. After studying the selection plan of OCEAN Pump, the customers signed the purchase contract with us. After the ZJQ200-15-22 submersible slurry pump with agitator was delivered to the customers’ working site, OCEAN Pump engineers guided the customers to modify the hull by telephone and video. In test running, the sand capacity was about 35 cubic meters per hour. But there was a problem, when diving into water for sand extracting, the submersible dredge pump hoisted the wire rope to shake forth and back. The customers sent us video about the problem, after discussion, our engineers confirmed that during the modification process, the reserved space for the sand discharge pipe was small, so it was easy to cause the pipe to be twisted, resulting in the tilting rotation of the Submersible slurry pump with agitator. After the customer changed the pipe area, the problem was ruled out. The sand pumping operation was carried out for 2 days, the problem did not occur, and the sand capacity increased to about 43 cubic meters per hour. After 3 months of operation, the customers routinely maintained the submersible slurry pump with agitator, and found that the impeller and the pump casing did not show excessive wear marks, and were very satisfied with the wear resistance of our submersible sediment pump.

1. There are Differences in Structure 
The design of the submersible agitator sand pump is based on the horizontal slurry pump and the large particle sand pump, with the same drawings of the over-flow components such as the pump impeller and pump case. Electric motor is low-speed and high-torque, considering of extreme conditions, electric motor is designed with higher protection and insulation grade. The submersible electric motor designed by OCEAN Pump has overload protection probe, water inlet probe and oil water probe to avoid the loss caused by electric motor failure.
The base of the submersible agitator sand pump which from the other supplier is submersible sewage pump, which is a common sewage pump. By using the electric motor of the submersible sewage pump and then replacing the overflow parts with ductile iron or high-chromium cast iron, the advantage of this pump is lighter and suitable for the extraction of sewage or a small amount of mud.
2.Different Volume and Weight  
Taking 22 kw submersible agitator sand pump for example, sand pump weight of OCEAN Pump is 660 kg and the dimension (L*W*H) is 1375*630*870 mm. The other two sand pumps are weighed and measured separately, one pump weighs 260 Kg with dimension (L*W*H) 1055*420*650 mm, the other weighs 280 kg and the dimension (L*W*H ) is 1100*480*550 mm. Only comparing the weight, Our Pump is two times than the others suppliers’.

What is the reason for the difference in weight and volume?
The main reason is that the number of poles on the motor is limited. The other manufacturers’ products are 4-pole motors with speed of 1450 r/min. The submersible agitator sand pump of the OCEAN Pump  is 6-pole motor with speed of 980 r/min. It is well known that the lower the number of poles of the motor, the lower the rotational speed, the larger weight and the greater the torque. For the sand pump, it is sure that the torque of the pump is as large as possible. The higher the torque, the more powerful the submersible agitator sand pump will be. Moreover, for the overflow components, the lower the rotation speed, the smaller the wear. However, the pump case and impeller are larger for the submersible sand pump with lower rotation speed, and it is heavier than the pump with high speed. The electric hoist needs to be bigger used for lifting .
3. Different Application Range
The submersible agitator sand pump produced by OCEAN Pump was originally called submersible slurry pump. It was mainly used to extract liquids containing solid particles such as slurry, cinder, tailing, etc. After modified the pump type by OCEAN Pump, the channel of the submersible slurry pump was widened. The jet-type submersible agitator sand pump and submersible agitator sand pump with side-agitators were designed, and the application range extends to the construction site such as sand pumping, dredging and environmental protection equipment.

The submersible agitator pump produced by the others suppliers can be used to extract mud, sewage or working conditions with low specific gravity of solid particles, or short-term sand pumping, but it is not suitable for the extraction of coarse sand or large granular solids. If it is used for sand pumping or dredging, it is prone to faults such as motor overload burnout or spindle breakage, which seriously affects the construction progress.
 4. The Difference in Life Span
Due to the different motor speed, the wear of the high-speed submersible agitator pump is much higher than that of the low-speed pump type under the same flow and head condition, which is equivalent to the solid-liquid mixture under the same unit volume, the impeller of submersible slurry pump produced by OCEAN Pump is only ground in one turn, and the high-speed product is ground twice. Even with the same type of pump, the wear will vary greatly. This is why the pump speed on the large cutter suction sand pump is only 200-300 rpm. The volume of cutter pump is very large, and some will be taller than a house. It is because of the high torque impeller. Under the premise of ensuring the flow and head, the speed should be reduced as much as possible to ensure the service life of the pump.

30KW Submersible Sand Slurry Pump was Delivered to Indonesia

Submersible sand slurry pump (also known as the submersible slurry pump) is made of wear-resistant alloy steel by the optimized casting and manufacturing processes. The electrical motor and mechanical pump is designed and manufactured on the same axis to work for heavy duty sand or slurry pump suction and transportation applications.

The submersible sand slurry pump has advanced structure and wide over-flow passage to make it high output and high performance. This kind of sand slurry pump is suitable for conveying liquids containing solid particles such as sand and cinder. It can be equipped on submersible sand dredger for sand extracting. Submersible sand slurry pump is also widely used in sand pumping, reclamation, dock construction, electric power and metallurgical transportation, river dredging and other industries.

Indonesian customer contacted us and wanted to buy a sand pump for sand dredging in the sedimentation tank in April, 2019,. He had a sand field in Indonesia. There were mud and other impurities mixed with the sand. So he used several sand washing machines to clean the sand source every day, at the same time, there were several sedimentation tanks used for collecting fine sand that flows away with the water.

Indonesian customer wanted to use a submersible sand slurry pump to extract the sand from the sedimentation tank. The pool could be cleaned up for reuse, and the precipitated fine sand could be recycled for sale.

According to the customer’s request, the submersible sand slurry pump was selected as the sand suction equipment. The sand suction pump is easy to operate and directly sneak into the sedimentation tank. The suction port contacts the deposited sand layer, and the bottom is equipped with a stirring impeller to stir the sand with a long deposition time. Submersible slurry pump is easy to extract the sand and increase the concentration of sand.

At the same time, we reformed the sand dredging machine. At the bottom of the pump body, the base bracket was changed into a hollow pipe which was connected with three water jets on top. The high-pressure water from the water pump is used to break the harden sand for sucking the sand easier.

Later, we sent our selection parameters and design plans, physical photos, and live work videos to our customer.
