1. There are Differences in Structure 
The design of the submersible agitator sand pump is based on the horizontal slurry pump and the large particle sand pump, with the same drawings of the over-flow components such as the pump impeller and pump case. Electric motor is low-speed and high-torque, considering of extreme conditions, electric motor is designed with higher protection and insulation grade. The submersible electric motor designed by OCEAN Pump has overload protection probe, water inlet probe and oil water probe to avoid the loss caused by electric motor failure.
The base of the submersible agitator sand pump which from the other supplier is submersible sewage pump, which is a common sewage pump. By using the electric motor of the submersible sewage pump and then replacing the overflow parts with ductile iron or high-chromium cast iron, the advantage of this pump is lighter and suitable for the extraction of sewage or a small amount of mud.
2.Different Volume and Weight  
Taking 22 kw submersible agitator sand pump for example, sand pump weight of OCEAN Pump is 660 kg and the dimension (L*W*H) is 1375*630*870 mm. The other two sand pumps are weighed and measured separately, one pump weighs 260 Kg with dimension (L*W*H) 1055*420*650 mm, the other weighs 280 kg and the dimension (L*W*H ) is 1100*480*550 mm. Only comparing the weight, Our Pump is two times than the others suppliers’.

What is the reason for the difference in weight and volume?
The main reason is that the number of poles on the motor is limited. The other manufacturers’ products are 4-pole motors with speed of 1450 r/min. The submersible agitator sand pump of the OCEAN Pump  is 6-pole motor with speed of 980 r/min. It is well known that the lower the number of poles of the motor, the lower the rotational speed, the larger weight and the greater the torque. For the sand pump, it is sure that the torque of the pump is as large as possible. The higher the torque, the more powerful the submersible agitator sand pump will be. Moreover, for the overflow components, the lower the rotation speed, the smaller the wear. However, the pump case and impeller are larger for the submersible sand pump with lower rotation speed, and it is heavier than the pump with high speed. The electric hoist needs to be bigger used for lifting .
3. Different Application Range
The submersible agitator sand pump produced by OCEAN Pump was originally called submersible slurry pump. It was mainly used to extract liquids containing solid particles such as slurry, cinder, tailing, etc. After modified the pump type by OCEAN Pump, the channel of the submersible slurry pump was widened. The jet-type submersible agitator sand pump and submersible agitator sand pump with side-agitators were designed, and the application range extends to the construction site such as sand pumping, dredging and environmental protection equipment.

The submersible agitator pump produced by the others suppliers can be used to extract mud, sewage or working conditions with low specific gravity of solid particles, or short-term sand pumping, but it is not suitable for the extraction of coarse sand or large granular solids. If it is used for sand pumping or dredging, it is prone to faults such as motor overload burnout or spindle breakage, which seriously affects the construction progress.
 4. The Difference in Life Span
Due to the different motor speed, the wear of the high-speed submersible agitator pump is much higher than that of the low-speed pump type under the same flow and head condition, which is equivalent to the solid-liquid mixture under the same unit volume, the impeller of submersible slurry pump produced by OCEAN Pump is only ground in one turn, and the high-speed product is ground twice. Even with the same type of pump, the wear will vary greatly. This is why the pump speed on the large cutter suction sand pump is only 200-300 rpm. The volume of cutter pump is very large, and some will be taller than a house. It is because of the high torque impeller. Under the premise of ensuring the flow and head, the speed should be reduced as much as possible to ensure the service life of the pump.

High Quality Slurry Pump was Delivered to Dongying for Building Yellow River Beach Area

One customer from Dongying was using a DS 250-75 slurry pump produced by other supplier, supporting 250 KW motor. Inlet diameter of the  slurry pump is 10 inch / 250 mm, outlet diameter is 8 inch / 200 mm, discharge distance for 5 km. In the using period, the customer found that the slurry pump impeller wore quickly and had many cracks. It was also leaking and could not be used anymore.
On December 23, 2018, the customer contacted our company. Through communication, we found that the slurry pump type labeling parameters were incorrect. The actual parameters of the slurry pump type are much smaller than the marked parameters (Flow capacity is 1100 m³/h , Pump head is 50 m), there are problems in processing and assembly accuracy, especially there is no dynamic balance on impeller, this causes the impeller and the rear guard are easily attached together, which exacerbates the friction and the damage is relatively fast.
At that time, it was winter and the temperature was below zero, stopping the pump for a long time would cause the pipeline to freeze, this led to damage easily and reduced the service life of the pipeline. Our engineers suggested the customer reducing the frequency first in order to reduce the speed of the sand pump. The slurry pump only pumped water to ensure that the water in the pipe flowed. On the other hand, the assembly workshop of OCEAN Pump immediately assembled a 12-inch high quality slurry pump (DS 300-75) and the supporting base. Because the sand pump machine belongs to double pump casing series, it requires pressure and water leakage test. The test ensures that the inner pump casing, the front and rear guard plates are well sealed and leak-free. After overtime work, the commissioning was completed at 10:00 pm on December 23, 2018. The high quality slurry pump would arrive at the construction site at 8:00 on the 24th.

On-site Installation and Commissioning for High Quality Slurry Pump

Our sales manager and after-sales installation engineers drove to the customer’s working  ite at 3 am on December 24, 2018, arrived at the site at 7:30, and started to install the sand pump.

1. Stop the high quality slurry pump and booster sand pump on board and discharge the water in the pipeline.
2. Temporarily raise the inlet pipe and the discharge pipe of the booster sand pump to ensure no water flow and save drainage time.
3. Remove the original slurry pump DS 250-75, and hoist the original 250 KW motor to the 12 inch high quality slurry pump installation base of our company, and start to adjust the concentration of the motor and mud pump and fix it.
4. Because the original pump type inlet is 250 mm and the outlet is 200 mm, and the new high quality slurry pump type inlet is 300 mm and the outlet is 250 mm. The imported and exported reducer tube is installed at the original pipeline.
5. Install a new high quality slurry pump DS 300-75 as a whole, and debug the steering and connecting pipes. The customer’s previous slurry pump does not have an outlet vent valve installed. According to the site conditions, an exhaust valve is installed to facilitate air removal and reduce Cavitation of the slurry pump.
6. Start the high quality slurry pump and booster sand pump for discharging on the dredger respectively, and adjust the power frequency of the booster sand pump according to the outlet flow to achieve the best relay condition.The whole modification process was very smooth. The customer thanked our company for actively cooperating, avoided further losses such as freezing on the pipeline, and learned the matters needing to pay attention to the high quality slurry pump through the modification process. How to Lubricate the Small Suction Dredge

Small suction dredge is a high efficient sand dredging equipment which can extract sediments under fresh water or ocean water. Small suction dredge has the features of easy operation, high output, high return on investment. Small suction dredge is widely used for waterways and ports dredging, assisting coastal protection, land reclamation and coastal redevelopment, etc. The sediment such as sand, gravel, ore gathered from water can be used for sale.
When the small suction dredge is running, the customer usually asks questions about how to lubricate the the whole small suction dredge. For example, diesel engine, clutch(power take off), sand pump and winch need the engine oil or grease lubrication ? Are there label restrictions or request？

Followed are the Methods on How to Lubricate the Small Suction Dredge

1. How to Lubricate Diesel Engine and Clutch of Small Suction Dredge
Small suction dredge usually has two or three sets diesel engines, The large size diesel engine is matched with sand pump. Medium size diesel engine is for high-pressure water pump and manual hoist, and small size diesel engine is for propelling system. We should carry out the daily maintenance such as filling water, engine oil and grease lubrication.
Small suction dredge is equipped with two clutches（also called Power take off), which is an indispensable part of sand pump set. The lubrication system of the clutches requires grease and the universal lithium grease. Before the sand dredger leaves the factory, our assembly engineer will add the grease into the clutches. Therefore, the customer only needs daily maintenance. The grease itself has no volatility and small loss. The equipment can be refilled once a quarter. A thin tube at the label above the clutch can be filled with a grease gun. Use a grease gun to fill in grease. After cleaning the clutch or replacing the fitting, it is recommended to clean the bearing with a special grease cleaning solution and add new grease. 2. How to Lubricate Marine Sand Suction Pump and High Pressure Water Jet Pump in Small Suction Dredge
Both the sand pump and the high pressure water pump are in the form of engine oil lubrication. Since the bearing lubrication requirements are relatively small, 32# or 46# general engine oil lubricants can be considered. The 46# engine oil with relatively high viscosity is suitable for summer conditions or working conditions in high temperature areas. When filling the engine oil, be sure to control the amount of oil. If the oil is pumped in the oil pumping chamber, the oil temperature in the chamber will be too high, or the oil in the engine room will be too low, resulting in insufficient bearing lubrication. The bearing wears too fast and affects the service life of pump set. When the sand pump or water pump is running for about 1000 hours, it should be replaced with new engine.

3. How to Lubricate Manual Winch in Small Suction Dredge
The manual winch is mainly used for lifting sand suction head and pipes, and winch is composed of reducer, roller and hand brake. The lubrication system of the manual hoist is a combination of engine oil lubrication and grease.
The speed reducer of the manual hoist is filled with engine oil. It is recommended to use 32# and 46#. The filling capacity shall be based on the oil gauge of the reducer. On the other side of the manual hoist, one of the bearings needs lubrication, but it is in the form of butter lubrication. There is a small hole in the side end cover, and the grease gun can be used to fill the small hole. The filling cycle is consistent with the clutch.

4. How to Lubricate Propeller System in Small Suction Dredge  
The Propeller system is an optional component, mainly used for small suction dredge movement, and the driving mode is diesel engine. The lubrication of the marine propeller machine is engine oil lubrication. The requirements for the lubricating engine oil are not very high. You can use 32# or 46# engine You need to fill the whole cavity before using. If you hear the sound of metal impact, the amount of oil filled is too low.
5. Conclude the Whole small suction dredge Lubrication System    
After 100 hours of initial fueling operation, the small suction dredge should replace the new engine oil with the whole dredge. During the normal maintenance period, it is necessary to ensure that the engine oil is completely change but not just replace engine oil. If you see the oil missing, add it again. Note that the impurities in the oil compartment can not be discharged, and the newly added oil will not play the role of lubricating the bearing.

Electric Sand Pump was Delivered to South Africa for Sand Dredging

Electric sand pump is a multifunctional sand dredging machine which can be installed on the land or sand dredger for sand and slurry pumping. At the beginning of April 2018, South Africa customers visited OCEAN Pump factory. The customer undertook a section of river dredging project.  The excavator was used for river dredging and obviously felt high construction cost and slow construction progress. They hoped that OCEAN Pump selection engineer could recommend one suitable sand pump machine. Most of the sediments in the river are silt and sand, the excavator has cleaned up the weeds and garbage, the customers required a conveyor distance of 2,000 meters.
Through the on-site environment, OCEAN Pump recommended customers to use multiple vertical sand slurry mud pumps to work together, then gather sand and water mixture into an eight-inch electric sand pump to achieve long-distance transportation through relay. What is the Maximum Lift of 6 inch Sand Pump
